The community of
St. Lawrence is an extended family open to all, and we value the ministry
of each member of this congregation. Your gifts are vital as we worship
and as we go into the world as Christ’s hands and heart. We
encourage you to become actively involved, in the life of St. Lawrence.
Try a ministry you’ve felt called to undertake; together we
will embody love in service to the world around us.
Within this
page you will find, information about Vestry and how they are organized
into various ministry teams. When you find an area that interests
you, simply contact the corresponding Vestry member. He or she can
give you further information and connect you with the appropriate
chairperson.
The Vestry is
the governing body of the church. It is comprised of the Rector,
two wardens and nine vestry members. Wardens are elected to two-year
terms and Vestry members to three-year terms.
Together with
the Clergy, the wardens form the executive committee of the Vestry.
They are responsible for the overall administration of the parish,
including working with the treasurer on church finances.

Altar Guild
Mell Wishau, Chair
Parishioners working in teams of four assume the responsibility of preparing the altar for any services held during their week. Laundering and maintenance of the altar linens, as well as polishing of the silver and brass fall under the auspices of the altar guild as well. Special altar guild teams help with the planning and coordination of weddings and funerals, too. The altar guild is currently looking for new members to help with this important activity.
Flowers and Candles
Ann Leffler, Chair
Each week, there is an opportunity to make a special offering, either as a memorial or in thanksgiving, for the flowers used at our Sunday services or for the Sanctuary lamp that remains lit at all times during the week.
There is a book located in the narthex in which you can sign up to donate funds for either flowers or candles for a particular Sunday.

Each year’s Stewardship Committee takes a new approach to effectively contact all the parishioners about making their annual pledges to support the work and ministry at St. Lawrence. Don Halbert chairs the committee, but fresh ideas are always welcome.
