Hope Food Pantry
Hope Food Pantry Hours:
The HOPE (Helping Other People Everywhere) serves those in need throughout our community. The number of clients we serve has steadily increased, having doubled in just the last two years. We serve more than 100 local families in a typical month. Our clients are from all over Lake County and need our services for a variety of reasons. But what has been consistent is the gratitude shown by so many of our clients. We help create a bridge to get them through a tough period.
We partner with the Northern Illinois Food Bank to purchase many items but are always in need of monetary contributions and additional product donations. In the past we have utilized a “reverse” offering to inform our donors of priority needs. But we are changing to a more regular schedule. The fourth Sunday of each month will be designated for a product collection for the pantry. Parishioners can either present these items at the altar on that Sunday or simply drop them off outside the food pantry door. We will also be posting a list each month of current product needs.
Additionally we would like to place bins for product donations in local businesses to further involve our community in reaching out to those in need. If you should own or manage a business or know someone that does and would be interested in hosting a donation bin, please contact Chris Heier via EMAIL or by phone at 224.619.4319 for further information on this opportunity.
The pantry is managed by a committee consisting of Chris Heier, Missie Krahnke, Anders Edstrom, Liz Halbert and Janet Chickey as well as a host of volunteers (of which we can always use more!)
Priority needs are as follows:
