Children & Youth
At St. Lawrence, we believe that children and youth need both worship experience and age-appropriate formation. We meet these needs through our Soft Space, Sunday School, and Teen and Adult Formation Classes.

Baptism
All people of any age, including infants, are welcome to baptized. We believe in one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. The Catechism notes that “Infants are baptized so that they can share citizenship in the Covenant, membership in Christ, and redemption by God.” The baptismal promises are made for infants by their parents or sponsors, “who guarantee that the infants will be brought up within the Church, to know Christ and be able to follow him” (BCP, pp. 858-859).

Confirmation
All youth entering 6th through 11th grade are invited to enroll in this 2-year class to prepare for the sacrament of Confirmation. The class began September, 2025, and the Confirmation service will be held in spring of 2027. This is a collaboration between St. Lawrence, Libertyville, and St. Gregory’s, Deerfield. We will alternate locations between our two churches. Class will meet once a month during the school year on Sundays, 4:00-6:00 pm: September 7, 2025 October 5, 2025 November 2, 2025 December 7, 2025 January 11, 2026 February 1, 2026 March 1, 2026 April 12, 2026

Sunday School
We invite all children ages 3 and up to join us for a year of fun, learning, and spiritual growth. Each Sunday after receiving the Eucharist, children go to their assigned classrooms according to age group. There, Godly Play teachers are ready and excited to welcome them! Parents are warmly invited to join us for Coffee Hour after the service while the children participate in Godly Play. We hope you will join us.
